1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) set out the rules for using the CCTV Request and Download Portal (“the Portal”). By accessing or using the Portal, you agree to comply with these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use it. The Portal provides a secure way to request, view, and download CCTV footage for legitimate and authorised purposes.
2. Acceptable Use
You must use the Portal responsibly and only for lawful, authorised purposes. In particular, you must:
- Access the Portal using your own authorised account;
- Use CCTV data only for the purpose for which access is granted; and
- Comply with all relevant data protection, privacy, and security requirements.
You must not:
- Share login details or allow unauthorised access;
- Attempt to bypass security or misuse the system; or
- Copy, distribute, or use CCTV footage for any unauthorised purpose.
3. Data Protection and Privacy
All CCTV footage is personal data and must be handled securely and lawfully. Users are expected to follow:
- Applicable data protection and privacy laws (e.g. UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018);
- Organisational data handling and retention policies.
You must only retain or share CCTV footage where there is a clear and lawful reason to do so.
4. Security Responsibilities
You are responsible for keeping your Portal credentials and any downloaded data secure. Reasonable steps should be taken to prevent unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure of CCTV footage. The organisation operating the Portal reserves the right to monitor access and usage to ensure compliance and system integrity.
5. Availability and Accuracy
The Portal is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. While reasonable efforts are made to maintain availability and accuracy, the organisation does not guarantee:
- Continuous access to the Portal; or
- That all requested footage will be available or complete.
6. Misuse and Breach
Any misuse of the Portal or breach of these Terms may result in:
- Suspension or withdrawal of access;
- Disciplinary or legal action; and/or
- Notification to relevant authorities or data controllers.
7. Updates to Terms
These Terms may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in policy, legislation, or system operation. The latest version will be made available on the Portal, and continued use implies acceptance of the revised Terms.
